Favorites of November

There is nothing better then the smell of a brand new book, a crackling fire and a steaming cup of coffee or tea. With winter coming and the holiday chaos right around the corner what better way to avoid family drama then to bury your nose in a good book.  Okay I do love the smell of books but I'm addicted to my Kindle app. Its so easy to download a new book and you can get tons of books for free. When you're living paycheck to paycheck like me you don't always have enough money to spend on books. These are some of my favorites from November that you can get for free and fast on Kindle.  Friends with the Monsters by Albany Walker This is a Reverse Harem romance and completely unique. It was very well written and I absolutely loved it. The story is about Dami who is quite literally friends with the monsters. Her best friend is a brownie and she entertains all the dark creatures the lurk in the shadows and under beds. I love stories where the female lead is confiden...

Wicked Witches of the Midwest

I love Halloween, its one of my favorite holidays. This year for Halloween I started reading the Wicked Witches of the Midwest series by Amanda M. Lee and I got to say they did not disappoint. Not only are they beautifully written they are absolutely hilarious. The first book in the series "Any Witch Way You Can" had me dying.  The book is set in a little town called Hemlock Cove where witches are real and not just a ploy to attract tourists. Bay Winchester is the only news reporter at the weekly newspaper The Whistler, shes also a real witch along with the rest of her family and she can see and talk to ghosts. Bay's off to cover a story of one of the local corn mazes for Halloween when she comes across a very real dead body. The story follows Bay as she tries to solve the murder with the help of her two cousins Clove and Thistle and her crazy great aunt Tilly.   This book is one of my favorites. Its a cute little cozy mystery that makes you just want to curl up and ...

How to Begin

I have been thinking about starting my own book review blog for weeks now and now that I'm here staring at the screen of my computer I'm not totally sure how I should begin this. Reading for me has become somewhat of an obsession. It started when I was going through a really rough patch in my life and I wasn't sure what to do with myself. My aunt suggested I read the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon and damn did I fall in love. Ever since I've been reading non stop for three years, and with the discovery of Kindle and all the books you can get at the touch of your finger Ive really racked up my reading lists. Sometimes though its hard to find a good book to really get into, and sometimes you read a book and you just want more. Whether that's more of the same or something similar, it can be hard to find a book that really gets you going. So Im starting this blog to share what Ive read and to hopefully start a community for other avid readers.
